Alfred Harlowe Robinson

Alfred “Harlowe” Robinson of Spring City went to meet his Savior on December 18, 2024. He passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side. Born in Lebanon, Virginia to the late Giles Graham Robinson and Bannie Kathleen Hughes Robinson, he was also predeceased by his brother Graham Eugene Robinson. 

 Harlowe leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 60 years, Brenda Cook Robinson. He is also survived by his son Randy Robinson (wife Wendy) of Shady Valley, TN; son Anthony Robinson (wife Brenna) of Palm Bay, FL; daughter Debbie Bollinger (husband Chris) of Lebanon, VA; sister Sharon Smith (husband Lyons) of Blountville, TN; sister Lucille Taylor of Cleveland, VA; and a sum total of 17 grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly, as well as several nieces and nephews.

 Harlowe lived a life full of love and service to others. After coming to know the Lord at the age of 14, he spent decades singing about the grace and love of the Lord Jesus with his family all across the eastern United States with various Southern Gospel groups. He also served the Lord through songwriting, and he is remembered as a faithful husband and father to his family.

 He also was a gifted contractor, who took great joy and pride in the hundreds of homes he helped build over the course of his life (including his own). In his later years, he spent time imparting his skill and wisdom as an instructor at Southwest Virginia Community College. 

 The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Combs-Hess Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. The service will be officiated by pastors Billy Hawkins, Austin Bollinger, and Lyons Smith. A burial will take place afterwards at Robinson Family Cemetery. 

 Pallbearers will be Randy Robinson, Tony Robinson, Brad Cook, Thad Lambert, Jordan Robinson, and Chase Robinson.

 Honorary Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Noah Slider, Tim Hutchinson, and David Blankenship.
