Lebanon, VA – Rebecca Grace Carter, age 70, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born September 6, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Giles Beckley and Mildred Puckett Carter. She was born in Lebanon, VA and was a 1973 graduate of Lebanon High School. She graduated from Radford University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in education, specialty in special education. She retired from Russell County School System after 41 years of service with special education and elementary school students. She loved her students and was well-known for treating each and every child the same (and for not giving homework!) Becky loved supporting her son in all of his athletic adventures from Little League and elementary sports, to attending and being an avid fan throughout his high school career at St. Paul High School and being his biggest fan as well in his college football career.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew Derek Allen Carter; and great-nephew Jameson Allen Loudy.

Survivors include her son: Seth Padgett (Laura) of Abingdon; brother: Allen Carter

(Diane) of Lebanon; niece, Kayla Loudy of Abingdon and nephew Wesley Carter of Lebanon; great-nieces: Dera and Demi Loudy, and great- nephew Dane Loudy. Several cousins survive that are like sisters to include Ann McReynolds, Gail Vencill, Susan Smith, Connie Wells, and other special neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, in Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm with Pastor Darrell Harmon officiating. Burial will follow the service in Ketron Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary McReynolds, Wesley Carter, Scotty Bryant, Darrell Puckett, Larry Hartsock and Kendall Fields.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Skeens, Eddie Skeens, Darrell Elam, Doyle Smith, Dennis Price and Eddie Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Russell County Animal Shelter 458 Haber Dr. Lebanon, Va 24266.
