Billy L. Monk

Billy L. Monk of Cleveland, VA, age 69 passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

He was a retired employee of Russell Co. school system. Billy was a lifelong resident of Cleveland, VA.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Laura Monk; brother, Johnny L. Monk; sisters, Margaret Senn and Lula Hughes; five half-siblings.

He is survived by two sons, Daniel Monk and Luke Monk both of Lebanon, VA; one granddaughter, Raven Monk; three brothers, George Monk and wife, Joyce of Lebanon, VA, Charlie Monk and wife, Karen of Oakwood, VA, and James Monk of Abingdon, VA; two sisters, Naydean Wolfe of Lebanon, VA and Josephine Fields of Lebanon, Va; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, in the Combs-Hess Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel with Rev. Donnie Musick and Rev. Danny Rhea officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service. Burial will follow the service in the Monk Family Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Monk, Tanner Keith, Jason Monk, Roger Hubbard, Rocky Ball, Rick McIntire, and Billy Lester.
