Charles Warren Baker

Castlewood, VA –Charles Warren Baker, age 97, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2022. Born May 24, 1924. He was the son of the late Charlie and Lilly Baker. He loved to farm and fox hunt.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Violet Baker; sons: Richard Baker and Chuck Baker; and daughter-in-law: Teresa Baker.
 
Survivors include his son: Brice Baker; daughter-in-law: Mae Baker; grandchildren: Alex Baker, Alan Baker, Nicole Hicks and husband Derek; great-grandchildren: Dally Hicks and Huxley Hicks; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend: Louise Hartsock.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bill Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 in Temple Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:20 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Baker, Alan Baker, Derek Hicks, Larry Dean, Dan “Robert” Jackson, Dennis Porter, Cletus Phillips and Rob Ray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Emmitt Salyers, Ralph Meade, J.C. Lane, Dan Burke, Ike Johnson and all his farming friends and hunting buddies.
