Lebanon, VA – Clarence “Chuck” Stone, Jr., age 74, a native of Dante, VA and long-time resident of Lebanon, VA passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born March 1, 1948. Chuck was a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge #251 AF & AM. He loved to teach his grandsons how to play his favorite sport, the one he shared with his sons and his community, baseball. Chuck was a graduate of Castlewood High School and attended Clinch Valley on a basketball scholarship to obtain his teaching degree. Chuck’s natural way of captivating an audience led him to sales where he retired from RM Wilson in January 2020. Chuck will be remembered for his love of cars, baseball, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Bertha Holbrook Stone.
Survivors include his wife: Marilyn “Kay” Stone; sons: Chad Stone and wife Pamela, Blake Stone and wife Natalie; daughter: Megan Collins and husband Ethan; grandchildren: Nolan Stone, Hudson Stone and Henry Collins; sister: Sue Stone Morris; nephew: Kevin Morris; niece: Amy Morris; brother: Terry Stone; brother and sister-in-law: Lanny and Lynda Hamm.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Scott Million officiating. Burial will follow the service in Ketron Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Richardson, Bobby Gillespie, Ben Watts, Terry Calton, Ethan Collins and Mike Stanley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Dickenson, Henry Keith, Greg Bostic, Ronnie Gilbert and Patrick Dubiel.
We encourage Chuck’s friends and family to honor him by bringing their antique cars to the service for his final drive-in.
