Claude Allen Laslie

Claude Allen Laslie, 78, passed away on Friday October 17, 2025.

He was an Air Force Veteran, serving in the Vietnam war. He spent 8 years in and out of the country. He enjoyed telling stories of his life experiences to anyone who would listen. He worked and retired from VDOT after 43 years. Claude enjoyed spending his time outside, fishing, being with his grandchildren, and working on his lawn mower. Claude was an honest and hardworking man, finding anything he could to work on and keep himself busy. He was a man who would help anyone in need and have no expectations of repayment. Anyone who encountered him had nothing but love and respect for him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Lasley; mother, Rose Lasley; son, Joseph Laslie; sisters, Geneva Baldwin and Virginia Hubbard; brothers, Jeff Lasley and Bernace Lasley.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Laslie of the home; daughter, Beverly Mullins, Big Stone Gap, Va.; granddaughters, Kirsten “Alice” Laslie and Travis Hall, Dryden, Va., Emma Laslie, Oregon and Allyson “Babydoll” Taylor and John Barker of Big Stone Gap, Va.; grandson, Nick Taylor and wife Melissa Taylor of Big Stone Gap, Va.; honorary granddaughter, Brooke Hughes; grandson, Connor Laslie of Mineral, Va.; sisters, Patricia Rose Beavers, Barbara Lynn Bailey and Eula Jean Davis all of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Maverick Barker, Sawyer Taylor, Aspen Laslie, Mallory Hall and Myla Hall.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Preacher Randall Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Lebanon VFW Post 9864. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Greg Bentley, Jon Barker, Luckas Worley, Joseph Elswick, Travis Hall and Freddy Lester.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Taylor, Maverick Barker, Sawyer Taylor, Aspen Laslie and Connor Laslie.
