Corey Maxwell Belcher

Corey Maxwell Belcher, also known as Corey Be, age 43, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Dr. James and Lucille Belcher and Mr. James and Louisa White.

He was born on June 30, 1982, the son of Rev. Danny B. Belcher and Janice L. Belcher. Corey gave his life to Christ at the age of 5 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, under the late Rev. Rayburn Leeper. Later in life, he became a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and he served as a Treasurer, Trustee and sound system operator. He made sure that the Sunday message was shared on Facebook and was always an inspiration to all he encountered.

He is survived by Father Rev. Danny B. Belcher Sr, Mother Janice L. Belcher, Child, Kendra J. Belcher known as “Twerp” to Corey; Brothers, Danny B. Belcher, Jr. (Mara), Dwayne A. Belcher (Amy); Uncle, Bernard White; Special Aunt, Linda J. Belcher (Doc) and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Fairview Baptist Church at 532 Azalea Drive, Glade Spring, Va. Dr. William J. Reid and Pastor Rev. Woody Scott will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of the service. The burial will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Va.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Charles “Doc” Adams, Jordan Belcher, Daryl Harris, Warren Lindsay, Mike Johnson, and Claude Branch. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Bowers.
