Lebanon, VA – Debra Sue (Barker) Compton, age 56, died peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center. Born February 22, 1964. She was the daughter of the late John T. and Betty Sue (Dotson) Barker. She loved animals, talking to friends and family, and had a special fondness for the musical talents of Elvis Presley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the mortal love of her life, Troy Milton Compton.
She is survived by one son: Christopher Compton of the home; one sister: Wanda Ferguson; two half-brothers: Kyle Wayne Brooks of Ashland City, TN and Charles Barker of Dalton, GA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services for Debra Sue Compton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Combs – Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor James Nunley and Pastor Danny Rhea officiating. Entombment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the burial fund for Debra.
