Dorothy Jean Ferguson

Dorothy Jean Ferguson, age 91, went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 19, 2026. Born August 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Howard Chafin and Minnie Robins Chafin.

In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Boyd Ferguson; son: Jeffery Boyd Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ferguson and several brothers and sisters.

Dorothy liked to read, garden and cook. She attended the Lebanon Holiness Church of Jesus Christ. She loved her children, grandchild and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons: Carter A. Ferguson, Dale H. Ferguson, Timothy J. Ferguson and wife Betty; sister, Peggy Kiser; brothers, Jackie Chafin and wife Krista and Johnny Chafin and wife Nancy. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Spencer White, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
