George Scott Burke, Sr.

George Scott Burke, Sr., passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. 

George was a brick mason for many years before working for David Leonard, where he stayed for 40 plus years up until his passing. He was an avid hunter and loved to be outside whether he was working on the farm or in his flower bed. He was loved by many and made friends anywhere he went.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Madge Reynolds Burke; son, George Scott Burke, Jr; one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristie Burke; sister, Maude Booher; grandchildren, Andrew Burke and wife Nikita, Justin Scott Burke, Timothy Hank Burke and wife Logan, Haley Delp and Emily Burke; great-grandchildren, Paytyn Burke, Grant Burke, Mason Burke and Ryland Arnold.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to David Leonard for all of the years of loyal friendship.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2 pm in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service chapel with Rev. Rick Thompson officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the Church Hill Methodist Church cemetery in the Hansonville community.  

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
