George Marvin Castle

George Marvin Castle, age 87, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Castle and Macedonia Austin Castle; his first wife, Phyllis L. Castle; brothers, Napier Castle, Floyd (Greezer) Castle, Jimmy Castle and Robert Miller and sister, Ruth Miller Taylor.

He loved being outdoors and was a coal miner retiring from Pittston Coal Company, a member of Abingdon Masonic Lodge #48 AF & AM and the Eastern Star and was a member of North Bristol Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jeneine Castle; daughters, Robin Lisa Castle and husband Michael Cook, Jacksonville, Fl., Tracey Canter and husband David, Bristol, Va. and Tammy Carrier, Bristol, Va.; sons, Robert Castle and wife Lisa, Lebanon, Va. and Paul Ray and wife Sherry, Bristol, Va.; brother, Earl Castle, Castlewood, Va.; grandchildren, Richard Brian Akers, Amber Castle Kegley and husband J.L., Tyler Castle and wife Danielle all of Lebanon, Mackenzie Canter and wife Ashley, MacCauley Canter and wife Tiffany and Sarah Chaffin and Anthony Chaffin all of Bristol, Va.; great-grandchildren, Hudson Castle, Lebanon, Va., Holland Canter, Bristol, Va., Caleb Canter, Bristol, Va., Reagan Canter, Bristol, Va., Holden Canter, Bristol, Va. and Vincent Chaffin, Bristol, Va. Several nieces, nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

Masonic service will be conducted Tuesday, April, 8, 2025 at 7 pm in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel conducted by the Abingdon Masonic Lodge #48 AF & AM with a funeral service following with Rev. Stephen Talbert officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. in Ketron Memorial Gardens. Everyone wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Sean Mullins, J.L. Kegley, Tyler Castle, MacKenzie Canter, James Chaffin, Jr. and Jeremiah Denton.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Masonic Brothers, MacCauley Canter, Paul Ray and members of the Eastern Star.
