Gerri was born February 22, 1942 to Kyle and Mildred Price of the Corn Valley Community. She spent her entire life in Russell and Washington Counties. Gerri graduated from Lebanon High School, where in her freshman year she met her life partner, Kenneth Addison. Kenneth has quoted many times, “she came down the hall and I thought, that is the prettiest girl I have ever seen.”
Gerri graduated from the school of cosmetology and along with her daughter-in-law, Nancy Addison, operated Mane Dimensions in Lebanon for many years before retiring to Abingdon.
She loved travelling, especially to the Kentucky Derby with dear friends Cathy and Gary Fox. Ken and Gerri also enjoyed travelling to Naples, FL, Jamaica, Mexico and Europe. Gerri loved gardening and tending to her spring flowers she grew in her many boxes surrounding her home.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents: Kyle and Mildred Price; son: Larry Randall Addison; brothers: Kyle Price, Jr. and James Price; nephew: Michael Price; and niece: Amy Dotson.
Those left to cherish her beloved memory are her husband of sixty-three years: Larry Kenneth Addison (L.K.); daughter: Kendra Denise Addison; grandchildren: Kori Addison Honaker of Abingdon, Kalvin Scott Honaker of Abingdon, Ashley Rachel Addison of Asheville, NC, and John Kenneth Addison of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren: Lola Randie Addison Earls, Ozra Jasper Garrity, Israel Salem Garrity, Jaxson Storm Addison; sisters: Phyllis Dotson and Shellby Alexander of Abingdon, VA; brothers: Bobby Price of Augusta, GA and Ralph Price of Abingdon, VA; daughter-in-law: Nancy Addison of Bristol, TN; many beloved nieces and nephews she loved as her own; and a very special friend, Robin Bise along with the loving family dog, Murphy.
We wish to thank her caregivers, whom she loved wholeheartedly, Josie Blankenship, Linda Keene, Margaret Rose, Mazie Mullins and Gail Andrews. We also wish to thank the nurses in the critical care unit at the Bristol Regional Medical Center who gave their all to provide comfort and care to Gerri during her illness. May God bless all the family and loving friends who gave their time, love and support to Gerri and her family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Greg Austin and Minister Travis Cross officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be private.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, grandsons and special friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be William H. Hyter, Dante Lee, Roger Jones, Dan Sullivan, and Gene King.
Her love of life and helping others, the family would ask that those who wish can send flowers or make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org, in honor of Gerri.
