Glenn C. Taylor was born on November 23, 1944 at Clinch Valley Clinic on Thanksgiving Day to G. Garnett and Hannah Elizabeth Ascue Taylor both Belfast natives. He was raised and started his farming career at a young age on the Taylor family farm. On June 6, 1969, he married the love of his life, Carol Minnick Taylor in Bristol, Tennessee. They have been married for 56 years. They have two children, Jennifer Annette Taylor Yates (Joe) of Lebanon and Michael Glenn Taylor of Belfast. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Tommy Settle (Logan), Taylor Settle (Caroline), Sydney Taylor, Kaylynn Settle, Malachi Settle and Lainey Settle. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Taylor Pauley of Belfast and Sister-in-law, Jane Saul Minnick of Blountville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Eddy Pauley (Dara), Cindy Garrett (Jeff), Rhonda Coleman (Neil) and Sarah Seehorn (Sam) and several great nieces and cousins.
He farmed his entire life on the Taylor family farm and passed away on November 13, 2025 doing what he loved tending to the cattle. His love for the land, the cattle and raising crops was what kept him going, even as he slowed down in his last years. He never met a stranger. He could spend hours talking and telling stories from times past. He was also a mechanic and could build most anything. When out on the farm he would often say, It’s just me and God and now it truly is him and God. He will forever be missed.
