Gloria Jean Cox

Gloria Jean Cox, 74, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Jessee Nunley, Jr. and Magaret Ellen Nunley, previous husband, Bill Litton and sister, Ann Rosenbaum.

She enjoyed collecting light houses and loved to spend time with her family. She was a member of Flat Rock Community Church.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Cox; daughter, Pam Cox and husband Trevor; son, Chris Statzer and wife Brandi; brothers, Dwight Nunley and wife Kathy and Bobby Nunley and wife Freda; grandchildren, Cody Kestner, Hannah Statzer and fiancé Josh Harris; great-grandson, Kashton Harris; step-granddaughters Whitney Powers and Katie Dockery and husband, Dustin; step-great-grandchildren John Wayne Powers, Eli Dockery, and Charlee Powers. Several nieces, nephews and special friends Jackie Warden, Daniel Johnson and Chris Dempsey also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Pastor James Nunley and Pastor Gary Damron officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Kestner, Trevor Cox, Paul Williams, Josh Harris, Robert Nunley and Matthew Nunley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Rosenbaum, Daniel Johnson, Tyler Hall and Chris Kestner.
