Johnnie Boyd Grizzle

Castlewood, Va-Johnnie Boyd Grizzle, 84, of the Eagle’s Nest section of Russell County, passed away February 12, 2024.

He worked as a farmer and in a sawmill for Jay and Jim Smith.  He loved dogs and horses

and attended Springfield Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Elsie Grizzle, sister, Maida Craig; brothers, Larry Grizzle and James Grizzle.

Survivors include sisters, Debra Hutson and husband Charles, Judy Johnson and husband Teddy, Winnie Hawkins and husband Ronnie, Edna Dixon, Willie Mae Nash, Gale Edwards and husband Mike and Gloria Robin Hutson and husband David; brothers, Jack Grizzle and wife Phyllis, George Grizzle and wife Brenda, Joseph Grizzle and wife Pat; sisters-in-law, Brenda Grizzle and Lola Grizzle; brother-in-law, Donnie Craig.  Several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in the Grizzle Family Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the cemetery. 

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
