Larry Oliver Rasnake

Lebanon, VA – Larry Oliver Rasnake, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He was born on January 2, 1942 to the late George Howard Rasnake and Nora Burns Rasnake, retired from Verizon with thirty years of service, served in the US Army as Military Police, and was a member of Marshall Masonic Lodge #39 of Lynchburg, VA. He enjoyed smoking his pipe and drinking coffee on his front porch, he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a devoted Christian who read the Bible every night and completed it many times over the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty- four years Phyllis Dean Rasnake; brothers: George Rasnake and Sam Rasnake.

He is survived by his daughter: Haley Rasnake Bruck; sons: Jasean Rasnake and wife Meredith, Cody Rasnake and wife Amy; grandchildren Carley Morgan, Andrew “AJ” Bruck, Joseph Rasnake, Sean Rasnake, and Bohannon “Bo” Rasnake; Niece: Becky Rasnake.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Harmon officiating. The burial will be 11:00am Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in Ketron Memorial Garden. Military Rites will be conducted by Lebanon V.F.W post #9864.  Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 to go in procession to the cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm prior to the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mathew Adams, Matthew Ketron, Joseph Rasnake, Zachary Ketron, Wes Ketron, and Andrew “AJ” Bruck. Honorary pallbearer will be R.D. Snead and Harry Monk.
