Margaret Nadine Sutherland

Margaret Nadine Sutherland, 79, of Abingdon, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2026. Nadine was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a cherished sister and aunt. She was the daughter of Clyde and Helen Huffman and was deeply rooted in her family, always prioritizing time with those she loved most. Nadine’s quiet strength, patience, and resilience defined her character. She faced life’s challenges with grace, never complaining, and always putting others first. A skilled seamstress, she also enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching Braves baseball games and working on jigsaw puzzles. Above all, her greatest joy was found in the company of her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Sidney Sutherland, daughter Missy King, son Chad Sutherland (and daughter-in-law Becka Bostic) grandsons Channing Dotson, Chase Sutherland, and Hunter Sykes, granddaughter Jordan Dotson, and great-grandson Max Dotson. Nadine is also survived by her sister, Shirley Boyd, and brothers Larry Huffman and Jerry Huffman. She was a beloved aunt to many, including Bryan Rasnake, Michael Huffman, Chuck Huffman, Danny Osborne(wife-Kim), Scott Osborne, Gordon Dye, Jerrice Rasnake, Myra Kramer, and Faith Gibson. A funeral service will be held at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia. Family and friends are welcome to attend as we honor a life well-lived. Nadine will be remembered for her loving spirit, unwavering devotion to family, and the quiet strength she carried through every season of life. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, December 5, 2025, in the Ketron Memorial Mausoleum with Dennis Kiser officiating. Entombment will immediately follow the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Danny Osborne, Scott Osborne, Bryan Rasnake, Gordon Dye, Michael Huffman, Chuck Huffman and grandsons, Hunter Sykes, Chase Sutherland, and Channing Dotson.
