Nancy Dare Crabtree

Cleveland, VA – Nancy Dare Crabtree, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born June 24, 1946. She was a graduate of Cleveland High School and Clinch Valley College. She taught 7^th grade at Givens Elementary School at Swords Creek. She loved children, to read, to sew, and she was a true Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Frosty and Edith Crabtree; sister-in-law: Linda L. Crabtree; and brother-in-law: Mike Shell.

She is survived by her sister: Gayle Shell; brothers: Virgil Crabtree and Kenneth Crabtree and wife Kay; nieces: Dawn Fields and husband Jerry, Katie Patton and husband Brian; nephews: Will Crabtree and wife Crystal, Michael Shell and wife Calli; great-nieces: Hannah Crabtree, Madison Crabtree, Caitlyn Shell, Natalie Shell, Kennedy Patton; great-nephews: Ethan Fields, Nathan Fields; and step great-niece: Destiny Hobson.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023, in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Vonley Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 in Ketron Memorial Gardens. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
