Peggy Elizabeth Kegley

Lebanon, VA – Peggy Elizabeth Owens Kegley, age 79, went to join the love of her life, Tommy in the presence of the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Born February 8, 1943. She was the daughter of the late James and Grace Owens. She attended Old Path Independent Church. Peggy loved to cook for her friends and family. She loved her flowers, they were her pride and joy, so were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved having company every day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Glen “Tommy” Kegley; brother: King Owens; and sister: Betty Jean Patrick.

Survivors include her daughter: Melissa Schlichting and husband Randy; grandchildren: Jesse Fields and wife Susan, Ciji Barnette and fiancé Bobby Clark; step-grandchildren: Nicki Musick and husband Brandon and Joshua Schlichting and wife Alice; great-grandchildren: Graci, Raegan, Bella, Nathan and Carter; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Paul Price, Rev. Ted Rasnake and Rev. Virgil Musick officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022. The funeral service will be livestreamed on our Combs-Hess Funeral Service Facebook Page, Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The committal will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:50 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Schlichting, Tim Price, Robert Cross, Bobby Clark, Jacob Musick and David Price.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Deel, Mike Jackson, Hal Tate, Don Campbell, Bobby Campbell, Giles Price, James Hunt and Shane Kegley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Old Path Independent Church.
