Lebanon, VA, Pinkie Eller Sword Cook, age 86, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. She was born in the Corn Valley section of Russell County on May 15, 1939, to the late Fred Campbell Sword and the late Lona Price Sword.
She enjoyed being outdoors working in her flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family. Pinkie was a member of Cliffield Church of Christ.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Junior Cook; son, Danny (Hank) Allen Cook; brothers, Charlie Sword and Fred Sword; and brother-in-law, Harold Stevens.
Pinkie is survived by her daughter, Debra “Cookie” Kiser and husband, Tim; sister, Nellie Stevens; brother, Don Sword and wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Ann Baker and, husband, David, Kimberly Kiser Nickels and husband Justin; and Daniel Kiser and wife, Christy; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Baker, I.J. Kiser, Korbin Fletcher, Kylynn Fletcher, and Azrionna Kiser and Chole Deskins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service chapel with Ministers Jeff Taylor, Keith Matney, and Claude (Lucky) Bunn officiating. Burial will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Friday, June 27, 2025. Honorary pallbearers will be Cliffield Church of Christ.
