Richard Barthelmes

Bristol, VA – Richard Barthelmes, age 95, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Born November 9, 1927. He was the son of the late Ferdinand Barthelmes and Mabel Brinks Barthelmes. Richard was a United States Navy Veteran, having served in World War II. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and all outdoor games, and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years: Charlotte Barthelmes; two granddaughters: Kami Perkins and Heather Patterson; along with three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his daughters: Penny Gross, Jody Patterson and husband Jeff, Wendy Reid and husband Roy, and Vicki Brown; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

A military committal service will be conducted in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup, Kentucky at a later date.
