Shuler “Adron” Ferguson, age 86, of Lebanon, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Adron was born on April 23, 1939, in Lebanon, Virginia. He was a faithful member of Green Valley Baptist Church. He worked for many years with Pope Paving Company and later retired from the Russell County Public School System, where he served as a custodian. Adron was a lifelong farmer on the family farm. Anyone who met him knew he loved to talk and tell jokes.

Adron was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Ferguson; his parents, Shuler and Flossie Ferguson; his brothers, Lester Ferguson, Alfred Ferguson, and Raymond Ferguson; and his sister, Ema Jean Riley.

He is survived by his son, Denny Adron Ferguson and wife Wanda; his daughter, Freda Jane Ferguson Musick and husband Michael, all of Lebanon, Virginia. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Chad Ferguson and wife Amy of Duffield, Virginia; Dillon Ferguson and wife Tanah of Lebanon, Virginia; Jordan Musick and wife Mackenzie of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Makayla Ferguson of Lebanon, Virginia, and companion Chris Johnson; Maranda Ferguson of Lebanon, Virginia, and companion Gabe Hess; and Pvt. Justin Musick of Hawaii.

Great-grandchildren include Brooklyn Ferguson of Duffield, Virginia, and Kylian Ferguson of Lebanon, Virginia.

In addition, he is survived by his brother, Buford Ferguson and wife Nancy, and his sister, Gaynell Mitchell, all of Lebanon, Virginia, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Green Valley Baptist Church, with Rev. Caleb Sample and Randy Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Green Valley Baptist Church by 1:40 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Ferguson, Dillion Ferguson, Jordan Musick, Pvt. Justin Musick, and nephews.
