Steve Richard Cox

Steve Richard Cox, age 73, went to be with the Lord May 20, 2025, born August 10, 1951, he was the son of the late James Albert Cox and Ruth Elizabeth Hubbard Cox Robinson. Steve loved to go to church and serve the Lord and attended Flat Rock Community Church, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he was retired from VDOT.

In addition to his parents Steve was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Jean Cox; sister, Mona Williams; brother, James Cox; previous wife, Mary Ann Hubbard Cox.

He is survived by his daughter Pam Cox and husband Trevor; son Chris Statzer and wife Brandi; step daughters: Missy Charles, Annie Charles, Joann Ratliff, brother: David Cox; grandchildren: Cody Kestner, Hannah Statzer and fiancée Josh Harris, great grandson: Kashton Harris step grandchildren: Whitney Powers, Katie Dockery and husband Dustin; step great grandchildren: John Wayne Powers, Charlee Powers; Eli Dockery; special niece Angela Wagner, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday May 24, 2025, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Pastor James Nunley and Pastor Gary Damron officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Thompson Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Trevor Cox, Cody Kestner, Chris Statzer, Robert Williams, Paul Williams, and Neal Wagner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Kestner, Kenny Williams, and Daniel Johnson.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
