Steven Lynn Collins

Steven Lynn Collins, age 72, of Lebanon, Virginia passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, peacefully at home. He was born September 18, 1952, in Bristol, Virginia to the late Robert and Margarita Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Collins and Jimmy Collins.

 Steve was a faithful member of West Hills Baptist Church in Bristol Tennessee. He loved his Lord and Savior. He was in church every opportunity and was proud to witness and testify of God’s goodness. Steve loved and cherished his father and mother. He loved having family gatherings and talking about the good ole days. He and Jo would cook and make dinners regularly for all the children to come and enjoy. He loved holding the little ones and rocking them to sleep. He always made sure the grandkids had candy to eat before going home. He and Jo loved each other and were always there for one another. He appreciated all his customers that did business with him all the years that he operated Collins Water Purification which made it possible to provide for his family.

 Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joann Collins of 42 years; son, Robert Collins and wife Ashley, son, Brian Collins and wife Melanie, son, Mark Gamble; daughter, Jackie Grizzle; son, Brandon Collins and wife Randi all of Lebanon; brother, David Collins and wife Nikki of Bristol, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Rita Duty and Alice Collins; brother-in-law, Bill Hughes and Rena. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and Terry Grizzle also survive.

 Steve’s most treasured possession on this side of Heaven was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Alisha, Ashley, Dawson, Axel, Olivia, Bailey, Kourtney, Jacob, Parker, Logan, Matthew and Marshall; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Xavier, Reign and Eloise.

 Funeral service will be conducted 1 pm Friday, December 6, 2024, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with Pastor Larry Hall and Pastor Jack Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow at the Hughes Family cemetery on Farmland Drive, Lebanon, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Thursday December 5, 2024, at the funeral home. 

 Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jason Collins, Dawson Collins, Logan Grizzle, Evan Cox, Tyler Skeen and Cayden Dishman.
