Velma Allene Ramey

Castlewood, VA – Velma Allene Osborne Ramey, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Born December 26, 1948 to the late Wilson and Louise Osborne of Castlewood, VA. Allene loved her family and friends. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother. She loved to cook, bake and sew. She made beautiful handmade quilts. She loved working in her flowers and taking care of her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Eugene Osborne.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years: Jack Ramey; daughters: Laura (Randy) Taylor of Franklin, NC, Kathy Ramey of Grundy, VA, and Sandra (James) Clevenger of Grundy, VA; grandson: Zachary Taylor; and granddaughter: Holly Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Willie Cantrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Temple Hill Memorial Park. We will go in procession to the cemetery.
